Volunteering is an important part of supporting a child's education and supporting your local school. We are so thankful for all our volunteers! To be a volunteer at Las Brisas you must be volunteer trained. This is a district policy and is necessary if you want to volunteer on any DVUSD campus and field trips. Volunteer training only needs to be done one time, it does not expire.
Las Brisas conducts training sessions throughout the school year, here are the dates for 2022-23: August 24, 2022 at 1:30pm in the Las Brisas Band Room October January March
PTSA Volunteer Opportunities Las Brisas PTSA is volunteer run association and we are always in need of help! Volunteer commitments can be as small as volunteering for a half-hour shift at an event, or a big commitment to chair one of our committees. There is room for all contributions! If you are interested in learning more please fill out our Volunteer Interest Form at the bottom of the page.
All PTSA Volunteers that contribute to our committees or volunteer at any PTSA event are entered into our end of the school year Volunteer Raffle!
Las Brisas Volunteer Guidelines
Everyone must prearrange with their teacher, classroom coordinator, or the PTSA before showing up to volunteer to avoid interrupting class time.
All volunteers must sign in and out at the front office, this is for safety and the school benefits monetarily from volunteer hours logged. The hours are recorded monthly and reports are submitted to the state.
When volunteering during school hours and you need to go to the workroom for copies, cutting, etc., please remember to go through the kindergarten hallway to the teacher's lounge to the workroom.
No children who are not students at Las Brisas are allowed to come on campus with you when volunteering, please coordinate childcare before arriving to volunteer.
Ideas for Helping from Home
Ask your student's teacher how you can offer support, many teachers need help sorting or cutting papers.
Create a class directory with Google Forms to help connect families outside the classroom.
Donate school supplies! Many teachers request copy paper, colored copy paper, sticky notes, expo markers, and sharpies.
