Las Brisas PTSA is a volunteer non-profit and we are always in need of help! Volunteer commitments can be as small as volunteering for a half-hour shift at an event, or a big commitment to chair one of our committees. There is room for all contributions! PTSA volunteer opportunities fall into the following categories:
PTSA Committees
PTSA Event Volunteers
PTSA Take-home Flyer Volunteers
School Volunteering
If you are interested in getting involved please fill out our Volunteer Interest Form linked in the purple section below.
PTSA Committees
PTSA committee work is an essential part of running our organization. All committee members must be current Las Brisas PTSA members and Committee Chairs are appointed by the President.

PTSA Event Volunteers
Help is always needed at PTSA events! PTSA membership is required to be a PTSA Volunteer as stated in our Standing Rules. DVUSD Volunteer Training is not a requirement at after school family events, but is encouraged. PTSA event volunteer opportunities include 30 minute shifts and helping with cleanup. Please watch for the signup genius that is shared in the member emails and on event pages for opportunities to help.
PTSA Take-home Flyer Volunteers
Needs arise throughout the year to assist PTSA Leaders with sorting and copying flyers and stickers into teacher mailboxes. This is a low time commitment opportunity. All volunteers must have DVUSD Volunteer Training completed when helping during school hours.
Volunteering is an important part of supporting a child's education and supporting your local school. To volunteer on campus during school hours you must be volunteer trained. This is school district policy and is necessary if you want to volunteer on any DVUSD campus and field trips. Volunteer training only needs to be done one time, it does not expire.
Las Brisas conducts training sessions throughout the school year in the Las Brisas Media Center, here are the dates for 2023-24:
Wednesday, August 30th at 1:30pm
Monday, October 16th at 1:30pm
Thursday, February 8th at 1:30pm
If you cannot make any of the Las Brisas Volunteer Training sessions you can attend one at any of the DVUSD schools, see the calendar for available training dates.
At Las Brisas our classrooms have four class parties a year: Fall party, Winter party, Valentine's party, and end-of-year party. If a Teacher selects you to be their Classroom Party Planner (also known as Class Coordinator or Room Parent) we will reach out with details for our training meeting and to share resources.
PTSA Coordinated School Volunteer Opportunities
Please fill out our Volunteer Interest Form and select 'School Volunteer Contact List' to be included in our volunteer email list. We coordinate the following volunteer opportunities:
WISE Wagon Store (Friday mornings)
Book Fair
Picture Day
Field Day
Front Office Support
Las Brisas Volunteer Guidelines
Everyone must prearrange with their teacher, classroom party planner, or the PTSA before showing up to volunteer to avoid interrupting class time.
All volunteers must sign in and out at the front office, this is for safety.
No children who are not students at Las Brisas are allowed to come on campus with you when volunteering, please coordinate childcare before arriving to volunteer.
Ideas for Helping from Home
Join a PTSA Committee! We have many opportunities that can be done from home, like creating a sign-up genius or contacting businesses for donations.
Ask your student's teacher how you can offer support, many teachers need help sorting or cutting papers.
Create a class directory with Google Forms to help connect families outside the classroom.
Donate school supplies! Many teachers request copy paper, colored copy paper, sticky notes, expo markers, and sharpies.
