The mission of Las Brisas PTSA is to advocate for our children! And this year's ballot includes many important elections that will affect our children's education. As a 501(c)3 organization, Las Brisas PTSA does not endorse any candidates. We simply hope to help our members to be well informed voters. We hope this Education Voter Resource will help as you prepare to vote, and feel free to share this with your friends and family!

Another resource to learn about School Board Candidates is an article from Local News AZCentral. They surveyed all Maricopa County School Board Candidates and the article does a great job of answering questions that may not have been addressed in the Candidate Forum.

Arizona Proposition 308 - In-State Tuition for Non-Citizen Residents Measure
A "YES" vote shall have the effect of allowing any Arizona student, regardless of immigration status, to be eligible for in-state tuition at state universities and community colleges if they graduated from, and spent at least two years attending, an Arizona public or private high school, or homeschool equivalent; allowing any Arizona student, regardless of immigration status, to be eligible for state financial aid at state universities and community colleges.
Proposition 308 would repeal provisions of Proposition 300 (2006) which provided that non-citizens would not receive certain state-subsidized services, benefits, or financial aid or in-state tuition rates.
A "NO" vote opposes allowing non-citizen students to receive in-state college tuition, thus continuing to require out-of-state tuition rates for non-citizen students who attended for at least two years and graduated from schools in Arizona.
Special thanks to our Advocacy Committee for putting this resource together!
